For the last year, the Healthgrades COVID-19 Patient Confidence Study has measured trends in consumer attitudes and behaviors toward healthcare and other activities of once-daily life amidst the pandemic in order to provide forecasts of behavioral changes for both doctors and patients.

With patient confidence at its highest since we began tracking the data, this presentation will cover how the healthcare engagement landscape has changed and which of these changes we predict are here to stay. As we look toward the future, we’ll explore lessons learned from health systems’ acquisition and engagement strategies and recommend how best to pivot based on current consumer confidence and areas of growth.

John Mangano is a pharmaceutical and healthcare media measurement pioneer who has helped the industry understand the digital patient. He is well-respected across the health and media industries, having spent his career researching the behavior of the digital patient and quantifying the impact digital media has on patient outcomes. He is an outspoken proponent of continual innovation of health analytics and maximizing the efficiency with which consumers connect with health providers, pharmaceutical companies, and their agencies.

John most recently leads Healthgrades’ business intelligence and audience efforts with its pharmaceutical, health system and other clients finding new ways for health marketers increase the efficiency in which they can reach the right patients with the right messages.

Prior to Healthgrades, John worked as senior vice-president at Digitas Health, where he led the strategy and analytics team. From 2008 through 2016, John served as senior vice-president at comScore, where he built the health practice working with the pharmaceutical industry, government health organizations, major hospitals, and health associations. John is a frequent speaker at conferences, universities and has even testified at FDA hearings.

Before joining Healthgrades, Melissa received her Master's in Public Health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, and worked in PR and Marketing at the University of Wisconsin Department of Surgery. Melissa also holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, husband, and their two dogs.
