Daniel Abazia is Director of Pharmacy at Capital Health and adjunct clinical associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Rutgers in 2005 and completed a PG Y1 Pharmacy Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA in 2006. Since then, he has served as a clinical pharmacist at the University Medical Center at Princeton (now the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro – Penn Medicine), clinical pharmacist in medicine/oncology at the University of Chicago Medical Center, Director of Pharmacy Operations at Community Health, Chicago, IL, Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at Palos Community Hospital in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, and clinical assistant professor with the Rutgers School of Pharmacy. Dan has and continues to serve in both committee and leadership positions in a number of professional organizations including American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM), American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), American Society of Health-System Pharmacy (ASHP), and the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacy (NJSHP). His professional interests include pain management, palliative care, medication-use policy and safety, clinical service development and experiential educational.
