COVID-19: A few words from our CEO

COVID-19: A few words from our CEO

Taking care of each other is part of our DNA at WriterGirl. Never has this been more apparent than now, as we learn more about COVID-19 daily, sometimes hourly. We’re fortunate in that we’ve always had a virtual work environment at WriterGirl, so we don’t have a learning curve in terms of working from home.

That said, we understand that many of our clients and partners don’t have the same experience. One employee told me today that a friend of hers in Washington state put out on social media that she’d be OK if only someone could teach her how to use Zoom. The WriterGirl reached out and said, “I can talk you through that right now.” And we’re happy to do that for anyone who needs such help.

Those are practical things, and probably easier to help with than the more nebulous things we’re all facing. Schedules are disrupted. Schools are closed. Restaurants and bars are shut down. Everything is canceled. But it’s the uncertainty that’s so unsettling. How do we interact with and comfort one another in such uncertainty? How can we be empathetic and compassionate when we’re so unsure ourselves?

Brene Brown says, “Vulnerability is basically uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure.” If we can be aware that all of us feel vulnerable right now, that’s a good place to start. Here at WriterGirl, we want to extend empathy and compassion to all of our partners. We also want to let you know that we’re flexible and willing to work with you if you need to adjust your schedule due to current circumstances. We’re committed to serving you to the best of our ability, continuing to provide the same outstanding service you’ve come to expect from WriterGirl.

We hope you are able to take care of yourselves and your families, and in the spirit of optimism that underlies everything we do at WriterGirl, we truly believe we’ll come out of this stronger than ever, together.

We’re here if you need us. Reach out to us anytime via email, or send us a message on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
