Digital experience that advances the human experience. That is the driving force at Phase2, especially in the healthcare space where patients aren’t just patients, they’re people. We brought this energy to the ViVE 2023 event in Nashville, as we gained insight into cutting-edge developments in digital health products that help the humans our clients serve. The event spotlighted a plethora of solutions—ranging from industry newcomers to established institutions—underscoring the imperative for a patient-centric approach to healthcare delivery.
A primary theme that surfaced was the significance of connected and knowledgeable patient experiences. Numerous solutions employed AI and machine learning to better comprehend patient needs and preferences, utilizing this data to provide tailored care that transcended conventional chatbot and virtual assistant applications. These innovations delved into areas such as triage and adherence to care plans, with some in beta testing and others slated for release later this year.
Another crucial theme highlighted the necessity for enhanced integration among diverse healthcare technologies. Friction was frequently mentioned, and as both patients and industry insiders, we recognize the challenges in connecting disparate elements and eliminating obstacles when employing point solutions. Nevertheless, we observed promise in the prioritization of interoperability, offering the potential to merge various systems and facilitate a more cohesive patient experience with greater integration and API opportunities than ever before.
At the event, it was clear that healthcare organizations recognize the importance of extending beyond their EHR (electronic health record) and delivering a comprehensive patient experience. However, many are still facing challenges in navigating these complex systems and identifying the key features and functionality needed to truly enhance the patient experience and drive better outcomes. This highlights the need for innovative solutions and expertise to help these organizations navigate and optimize their technology ecosystems.
An area that remains a challenge for many healthcare organizations is navigating analytics tools due to increasing regulations around PHI. Some organizations are taking a cautious approach by doing away with analytics platforms that aren’t backed by a Business Associates Agreement (BAA) altogether, while others are looking for alternative approaches. However, there are still many ways to benefit from analytics while maintaining patient data privacy through further anonymization techniques, configuration, and additional HIPAA product selection criteria.
At ViVE, we gained invaluable perspectives on the swiftly transforming healthcare landscape and prospects for innovation. By adopting a patient-first approach and diligently integrating the wide array of technologies featured at the event, healthcare organizations can fulfill the potential of digital health, forging a branded experience that fosters loyalty and enhances patient experiences.
We are passionate about harnessing the most advanced technologies and strategies to support our clients in delivering exceptional, human care. Remaining at the forefront of digital healthcare trends is imperative to guide our clients through the intricate healthcare digital ecosystem.
